Tennessee has the highest percentages of nocturnal tornadoes in the country, making it even more important that students have multiple ways of being notified of potential dangerous conditions both in their rooms and on their phones.
The Office of Residence Life conducts regular tornado drills in each residence hall and instructs students on proper procedure for inclement weather and where to shelter in place, however we do recommend that students be as prepared as possible by having multiple ways of being notified of potentially dangerous weather.
